This weeks songs are:

1) Prince – Purple Rain:

Prince Rogers Nelson a.k.a. Prince was a legendary American musician who sadly passed away on Thursday, 21st April. ‘Purple Rain’ is one of my favourite songs from Prince, which was released in 1984 and it’s considered as one of Prince’s signature songs worldwide. This song incorporates a mixture of genres including pop, rock and gospel music. According to NME Prince said “When there’s blood in the sky – red and blue = purple.. purple rain pertains to the end of the world and being with the one you love and letting your faith/God guide you through the purple rain”. R.I.P Prince, you were a musical genius and icon.

2) Coldplay – Charlie Brown

‘Charlie Brown’ is an alternative rock/pop rock song by the British alternative rock band Coldplay, released in 2011. This is the third single from their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto. This song is a story about a boy, that no matter how hard he tries, everything seems to go wrong. (Like the cartoon Charlie Brown). I love this song because it makes me feel free and let’s me escape from reality!

3) Martin Solveig & GTA – Intoxicated

I first heard this song at my close friends party and I’ve loved it ever since! ‘Intoxicated‘ falls into the genre ‘Future House’ and it was produced by the French DJ, Martin Solveig. This song charted in countries like Belgium, Austria, Germany, Switzerland etc. Intoxicated reached on.2 in the UKs dance chart and no.5 in the UKs singles chart.
