This weeks songs are:

1) Yael Naim- New Soul

Yael Naim is a French-Israeli singer who released New Soul in February 2008 in the UK and this is the third track on her self-entitled album. I first heard this track when I was watching the movie, The House Bunny ( I find a lot of new music by watching films). This song perfectly explains the situation the main character is in because it’s about a person who describes themselves as a new soul and they have to find their way around the real world, as hard as it may be. Check out this beautiful song below:

2) Imani Williams – Don’t Need No Money ft. Sigala & Blonde

Don’t Need No Money is a single by house music singer, Imani, and features house music producers Sigala and Blonde. Imani is only 16 years old and she went to the Brit school, which is a performing arts school that has produced many famous musicians e.g. Adele, Jessie J and Amy Winehouse. This is her first proper single, so please check out this cool song below:

3) Bananrama – Cruel Summer

I really love 80s music and Cruel Summer is one of my favourite songs from the 80s. This song also appeared in the film, The Karate Kid, which ultimately made it reach no.9 on the US Billboard Hot 100, a year after the original release date. Sara Dallin said this new wave/synthpop track “played on the darker side (of summer songs): it looked at the oppressive heat, the misery of wanting to be with someone as the summer ticked by. We’ve all been there!” Check out this song below:
