Welcome, lovely people, to 2017! 2016 has been a crazy year and I hope you have had a good year too. I spent the holidays with my mum and brother and other family members in Manchester. I had a great time, my mum made so much food on Christmas and It was so nice to see them again after 3 months. I spent New Years at church, where we waited like an hour to get the bus and to be honest we were on the verge of going home. I really enjoyed the church service but I was really upset that I had to leave in 2 days. I had a marvelouse time and I can’t wait to see them soon again.
I haven’t posted in a while because I’ve been so busy! I’ve had to revise for my mock exams through the holidays and they start next Tuesday. I’ve been doing LOTS of revision each day and most of it was spent doing biology revision because I have a lot of topics to get through for my exam. I’ve also read 2 Harry Potter books while I was with my family which was great. One of my friends in my tutor group today said that she found the exam hard (she did in yesterday) and she is a very smart girl, so I really do hope I do well in the exam on Tuesday.
My audition for a drama theatre in London is in 2 weeks and think I am prepared. By prepared I mean that I’m hoping for the best! I haven’t had much time to practice but I’m still going to go for the experience and just to have fun as well. I hope you guys have had a great start to 2017 and I’ll see you guys next week.
Summer has come and gone this year quicker than any other year in my opinion. Maybe it’s because I’ve been the most anxious to start year 13 than any other year and this is my last year in secondary school before I go off to university. I’ve spent most of the summer going up and down the country as you may already know by reading my previous blog posts but all in all this has got to be one of my favourite summer holidays. A lot has gone on in the past few months, changes that I might not be happy with but I have complete faith in God. One thing I’ve been thinking of starting is vlogs, maybe daily/weekly vlogging! You can check out my channel here but I deleted my old videos because they were uploaded a couple of years ago and have nothing to do with the content that I want to start uploading. I’ve recently been trying to pick out a cheap camera suitable for vlogging and I have my eyes on a SONY compact camera that I will hopefully get next week. Please comment if you think that I should start vlogging and if you’re already a vlogger, please comment on what camera you think will be suitable.
I’ve still got a few supplies that I need to buy for this upcoming academic year e.g. a new school bag, a new suit (we have to be formally dressed in my sixth form), new folders etc. and honestly I do enjoy back to school shopping. I am not, however, physically and mentally ready to start school and I usually feel this way a week before summer ends. I’ve still got my personal statement to write for my UCAS application and I’m still wondering what I’m going to put in it. I have watched videos and I’ve read examples of great personal statements but one thing that I’ve noticed that they always say is “Keep it positive”. The first draft of my personal statement is due in next Thursday, so I have just under a week to complete it however, I’m glad that I have completed my summer homework for media studies and psychology. One the things that I’m excited for in year 13 is the amount of free periods we will have because not only are we dropping a subject, we are also not doing P.E. this year. If you don’t already know, free periods are meant to be used for completing homework or studying or reading outside a subject.
I hope that you have had a wonderful summer and good luck to those who are going back to school or have already started school!
